Where is God in the storms of life? Composer Mark Burrows offers youth a remarkable experience to discover God’s ever-present love and care in Storms: a new musical for unison/two-part voices, piano, and percussion. Storms features a group of children who wonder if they have what it takes to weather storms of their own. Through heartfelt songs, authentic dialogue, and a healthy dose of humor, the children unpack the Bible narrative of Jesus Calming the Storm, realizing that no matter what happens in life - Jesus is in the boat with us. No matter the storm, we are always loved and we are never alone. We are even empowered to follow Jesus’ example by being there for others during their storms.
This production also features a fun bucket drumming experience and a meaningful service project for the whole community. A convenient audio pak product allows directors to share the demo tracks with everyone involved in the production - and also includes all the accompaniment tracks for performance. Reproducible percussion parts are available separately.
