CGA1144 Hosanna, Loud Hosanna
Description
Bright and triumphant, this setting of the well known hymn, Hosanna, Loud Hosanna, was commissioned for Helen Kemp and the Children's Choir festival celebrating her 90th birthday. The anthem wonderfully captures the festive spirit of that first Palm Sunday when crowds of followers greeted Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. Both organ and piano share accompaniment responsibilities throughout the piece along with an optional handbell part that adds an extra sparkle to the familiar ELLACOMBE melody. Ideal for children's choir or any treble ensemble, this anthem allows choir and congregation to proclaim together, "Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna to the King of kings!"
Composer: Gesangbuch, Wittenberg, 1784
Arranger: Vicki Hancock Wright
