In this stirring anthem for Lent or any time of year, composer John Helgen provides a fresh, new setting of Horatius Bonar's classic hymn text, I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say. Highlighting words that Jesus spoke promising rest and renewal, the introspective anthem is an excellent selection for any choir of mixed voices - especially youth choirs. Comfortable vocal ranges and straightforward melodic construction also adds to the appeal for high school voices.
