Chris Nemec is Organist and Worship Coordinator at Auburn UMC in Auburn, Alabama. Before starting that job in January of 2020, he was the Organist-Minister of Music at Lindenwood Christian Church, Memphis, TN, where he has served for 32 years. In addition to conducting the Chancel Choir, he developed and conducts two children’s choirs. The middle/high school choir, Laudate!, has sung at The Riverside Church in New York; Washington D.C.’s National City Christian Church; Chicago’s Rockefeller Chapel; Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis in St. Louis; and Lover’s Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas, among others. Chris has been an intern with the American Boychoir and James Litton, where he assisted in preparing Bach’s “Mass in b” with the New York Philharmonic. In January 2011, Chris sang the Berlioz’ Requiem with maestro Robert Spano as part of the 20th anniversary Carnegie Hall Festival Chorus, marking Chris’ eighth performance at Carnegie Hall.

In January 2012 Chris was selected by Chorus America to be a Conducting Fellow in New York City, and was selected in 2007 by Choristers Guild as one of five exceptional children’s choir leaders.   Chris graduated from the University of Memphis, Schiedt School of Music (Music Ed, Choral Emphasis) with additional studies at Westminster Choir College and Southern Methodist University.
