Lowell Everson

 

Lowell Everson is a graduate of Michigan State University with post graduate degrees from Catholic University of America. Upon graduation he served four years as pianist and arranger for the United States Army Chorus in Washington, D.C., traveling extensively and giving a number of command performances at the White House.

As a teacher for thirty years in Livonia, his choirs and ensembles were consistently judged outstanding and selected as state champions and performing artists at the Mid-West Music Conferences. In 1972, Les Jeunesses Musicales De France invited his choir to participate in their national festival. He was "Teacher of the Year" in 1979 and was recently honored as a member emeritus by the Michigan School Vocal Music Association.

More recently, he spent a lot of his timie composing and arranging for college, church, and children's choirs as well as giving workshops and recording for publishing companies.

Everson passed away on January 5, 2018 at the age of 82.

Everson was the beloved husband of Millie. Together, they had four children and four grandchildren.
