Barbara Hamm
Barbara Hamm has served for fourteen years as the Minister of Music at Community Congregational Church UCC in Benicia, CA. She has been the accompanist for both national and regional gatherings of the UCC and DOC. She has done workshops for the UCC Musicians National Network Conference as well as one for The Hymn Society. Her first published text, “God of Now, God of Then,” was with Choristers Guild in an anthem setting by Michael Bedford. Barbara’s first collection of hymns was published by Abingdon Press in 2006: Children of Creation: Hymns of Love and Justice for the 21st Century. The United Church of Christ 2009 publication, Sing! Prayer and Praise, includes six of her pieces. The new United Methodist publication, Worship & Song, includes her “Come to the Table of Grace,” while her hymn “God Is Still Speaking,” is in Hope Publishing Company’s online hymnal supplement.
