CGA1182 Little David, Play on Your Harp
Description
This charming arrangement of the popular African American spiritual tells the story of David tending his sheep, slaying Goliath, and serving as king while remaining "God's faithful child and shepherd boy". The lighthearted piano accompaniment imitates sounds of harps playing and a giant falling before the anthem concludes with a playful partner song section. An optional scripture-based narrative provides a creative introduction to the piece highlighting David's anointment as king and verses of praise found in the Psalms.
