Brian Hehn
Brian Hehn is an inspiring song-leader and educator dedicated to the diverse sounds of global cultures. He currently serves as the Director of The Center for Congregational Song for The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada, the Director of Liturgical Worship and Discipleship at St. John’s Lutheran Church Sweet Air, and is a faculty member for the Junius B Dotson Institute for Music and Worship in the Black Church and Beyond where he champions the regular incorporation of diverse heritages in worship.
Brian has been leading drum circles for twenty years and has been honored to serve as the primary percussionist for the 6th World Conference on Faith and Order in Egypt and the World Council of Churches’ 11th Global Assembly in Germany. He co-authored the two-volume series All Hands In: Drumming the Biblical Narrative and frequently contributes to journals on sacred music and liturgy. He holds a Master of Sacred Music from Perkins School of Theology (SMU) and a Bachelor of Music Education from Wingate University, where he has served as an Adjunct Professor of Worship.
Bran lives in Phoenix, Maryland, with his wife, Eve, and their children, Jakob and Clara who are budding percussionists!
