Summer Ringing Ideas for Small Ensembles & Soloists
By Kathy Lowrie on 5/18/2026
Small ensembles and handbell/bell tree solos are wonderful ways to keep ringers engaged during the summer months. Playing in small groups helps musicians strengthen counting, listening, confidence, and individual ringing skills while maintaining friendships and connections. Ringers wanting an extra challenge may find summer a good time to develop solo ringing or bell tree skills, furthering their growth as musicians. Summer ringing can keep the handbell program active and visible, helping ringers return in the fall with renewed enthusiasm and stronger musicianship.
These reproducible collections are excellent resources for small ensembles and soloists.
