Terry D. Taylor

 

Terry Taylor (b. 1955) became Managing Editor of Growing in Grace Children’s Music Curriculum in January, 2013. From 1980-2012 Terry served as Minister of Music in churches in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Oklahoma.

The son of a pastor, Terry was born in Bowling Green, KY, and grew up in south central Kentucky. He attended Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN, Belmont University in Nashville, TN, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, where he received a Master's Degree in Church Music with a conducting major.

Terry is widely respected for his interest, creativity, and leadership in music ministry to children. He is active as a curriculum writer, composer, conference leader, guest conductor, and music advocate. He has served as a guest lecturer at Samford University, and a board member of The Center for Christian Music Studies at Baylor University. Terry is the founder and musical director of the Freedom Choir, an outreach musical organization for refugee children and youth in south Nashville, TN.

Terry and his wife Tammie have three adult children, Rebecca, Jeremy, and Carrie Beth, and three grandchildren, Cayden, IsaBeall, and Hudson.
