LICENSE REQUESTS

In order to use copyrighted material, permission must first be obtained from the copyright holder.

Here are the steps needed to complete a typical music licensing request:

  1. Please select the appropriate request for your needs, fill out the online form and submit it to us.
  2. Once recieved, reviewed and approved by our licensing team, you will be emailed an invoice for the licensing fee.
  3. Music license invoices must be paid in full before the licensing permission is validated and is sent to you.  Please note that licenses and permissions are non-refundable.
  4. Customers located in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Scandinavia, Italy, the United Kingdom, and South Africa, please contact info@smallstonemedia.com for all permission and licensing requests.
  5. If you do not see a license listed below for your exact situation, or if you have further questions about the licensing process, please contact our Permissions & Licensing Administrator at permissions@choristersguild.org.
  6. To learn more about what a person CAN and CANNOT do regarding music copies, streaming copyrighted material, performing copyrighted music, etc., read this brief Guide To Copyright Law from the Music Publishers Association and YouTube.
  7. Choristers Guild is now offering gratis licenses for the distribution of UIL student recordings for K-12 assessment and adjudication. The recorded performance must use legally purchased music, and once the recorded performance has been adjudicated, the recording must be removed from the sharing platform.
