Ellen Yost comes to Choristers Guild with a decade of experience in nonproft and public sector marketing, outreach, and communications.
Born and raised in Weatherford, Texas, she grew up an active member of Grace First Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the children's and youth choirs and played handbells. She has also played the piano and the oboe. Ellen attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, graduating with a double major in English and Medieval and Renaissance Studies, and earned her Master of Public Administration degree with a focus in Nonprofit Management from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. She began her professional life working in the editorial department of St. Martin's Press in New York. In 2001, Ellen relocated home to Texas where she served Girl Scouts - Circle T Council in Fort Worth in capacities of membership marketing, public relations, and communications. She later joined the North Central Texas Council of Governments to manage public outreach and social marketing efforts for regional environmental issues. She has also served as Development Chair for the Board of Directors of Twelve Hills Nature Center in Dallas and in numerous other volunteer roles. Ellen lives in Dallas with her husband Schuyler and two young sons, Ted and Blake. They attend First Unitarian Church of Dallas. She enjoys reading, gardening, and playing golf and tennis.
