Rebecca Thompson joined Choristers Guild staff in 2009 as the Director of the Choristers Guild Institute and is the primary contact for all questions related to this three-years directors certification program.

She currently teaches music at Kentucky Country Day School and serves at Second Presbyterian Church in Louisville, Kentucky as director of the Carol and Chapel Choir. She is Founding Director of the Los Angeles Children's Chorus, past Children's Chorus Mistress for the Los Angeles Music Center Opera Company, and was Associate Director of the Appalachian Children’s Chorus in West Virginia. Her community based choirs have toured internationally, won national competitions, been honored to sing at Kodaly and American Choral Director's Association National Conventions, and appeared in films and commercials. Rebecca has conducted festivals and workshops in over thirty states.

Professionally, Rebecca has served the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA) as Women's Choir Chair for the state of West Virginia, President of West Virginia Chapter of ACDA, and Western Division ACDA Children's Choir Chair. She has served on the National Board of The Presbyterian Association of Musicians and on the National Chorister's Guild Board. Rebecca has been a teacher for over thirty years in serving private, public and parochial schools as well as church choirs. She has taught pre-school through university choral music education.

Rebecca and her husband Dean Thompson moved to Louisville in 2004 when Dr. Thompson became President of Louisville Theological Seminary.
