| William
Austin Payn is Professor and Director of Choral Studies at
Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. He has served at Second
Presbyterian Church, Newark Ohio; Presbyterian Church On-the-Green,
Morristown, New Jersey and Sharon Community Presbyterian, Moon Township,
Pennsylvania.
Dr. Payn earned
a BM from Westminster Choir College and his MM and DMA from West
Virginia University.
In 1995, he
was listed as AGEHR "Master Conductor", and Master Instructor
of Conducting and Musicianship. In 1996 he was awarded the "Westminster
Choir College Distinguished Alumni Award". In 2001, he received
"Class of '56 Leadership" award for inspiration teaching
from Bucknell University, and in 2005, Honorary Life-Membership
in the AGEHR.
In addition
to his listing in the Choristers Guild catalog, William Payn has
two published choral pieces, with National and GIA and numerous
handbell pieces with Flammer, Agape, AGEHR, National, Morning Star
and Jeffers.
William's hobbies
include backpacking, gardening, cooking and traveling. He is married
with one son and three step-children.
