Barbara graduated from William Woods University, Fulton, Missouri, with an Associate in Fine Arts in Music and from Henderson State Teachers University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas, with a Bachelor of Music in applied organ. She has served as children's and youth choir director and organist for congregations in the Amarillo, Dallas and Denison, Texas areas and serves as a substitute organist in the Dallas area. Barbara is also an active member of the handbell choir at her home church, White Rock United Methodist. She has two married daughters and five grandchildren. Her hobbies include gardening with native plants, maintenance of a website for the Garland Chapter NPSOT, spending as much time as possible with the grandchildren and usually has more than one home improvement project going at a time, doing the majority of the work herself. Barbara
Merry
joined the Choristers Guild staff in 1979 and has served in many
capacities at Choristers Guild throughout these years. She is currently
Administrator of Membership and Chapter Services and is responsible
for Accounts Receivable.
As a part of Membership and Chapter Services, Barbara oversees the
content of the website with listings of chapter contacts, chapter
sponsored events, job-line listings and many other areas of the
Choristers Guild web site that provide assistance to members and
prospective members of Choristers Guild. She is also active in working
with colleges and universities offering music degrees leading to
careers in church music by providing materials and scholarship information
for these students.
