Melinda Ramseth Hoiland
is Director of Children's Choirs at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in
Park Ridge, IL, where she directs two children's choirs, an Orff
Ensemble, other instrumental groups and a summer music camp. She
also coordinates worship for summer weekday services.
She has served
as Children's Choir Director and Orff Program Director in congregations
in St. Paul, Minnesota and St. Louis, Missouri and has taught music
in public and private schools, community programs and in her own
private flute studio. She has worked with children of all ages from
pre-school through high school.
Melinda received
a B.A. in Music Education from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota
and a M.A. in Music Education with an emphasis in Orff-Schulwerk
from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She also
studied Orff-Schulwerk in Salzburg, Austria in 1982, through a special
program offered by Choristers Guild.
Melinda lives
in Park Ridge, IL with her husband, Joel, their three children,
Kiersten, Daniel and Britta, and their dog Oreo.
