| Nancy
Reale Gifford, a
native of New Jersey, received a B.A. in Music, cum laude, from
DouglassCollege/Rutgers University. Her undergraduate years included
piano studies at L'Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Italy. She has studied
composition, choral directing, choral arranging and music education
at the graduate level at Westminster Choir College, Princeton, New
Jersey, and continues as a composition student of Joel Phillips.
Nancy Gifford
has taught music extensively in schools and churches, where she
has worked with students in grades K-12 (including her own children).
She continues to direct church choirs, which she has done for the
past twenty-three years. Nancy also teaches piano, theory and composition
in her home and developed a theory curriculum for The Piano School,
a music studio in Southampton, Pennsylvania.
In 2006 Nancy
decided to limit her teaching in order to concentrate on composing.
She currently accepts commissions for original choral works and
speaks to local choirs as they prepare her music for performance.
An ASCAP member
in author and composer categories, Ms. Gifford's music has been
published by Hinshaw Music and the Lorenz Corporation, with upcoming
releases by Santa Barbara Music and Choristers Guild in 2009.
