Dr. Susan E. Geschke is currently the Director of Adult Handbells and the Adult Vocal Choir at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Her choirs include ringers of all ages and levels of experience. Susan is an energetic and inspiring conductor with a reputation for combining hard work with fun. She actively composes and arranges handbell music and has more than 60 publications to her credit.

Susan graduated Summa Cum Lauda with a B.A. in secondary education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and received the Mimi I. Jehle Award for Outstanding Teaching. Susan continued at the university and earned her doctorate in Germanic Linguistics. During that time, she played oboe and solo English Horn with the University of Illinois Large Symphonic Band for seven years. After graduation, Susan taught at the college level until retiring to stay home with her two boys. Because there is always a song in her heart, Susan returned to college to earn a degree in music and began her career as a composer.
