| Taylor
Davis is currently the Director of Music at First United
Methodist Church in Fulshear, Texas. A 2003 graduate of Centenary
College of Louisiana, Taylor earned a Bachelor of Sacred Music degree
while studying conducting with Dr. Julia Brasher Thorn, as well
as intensive courses with Dr. Sandra Willets, Dr. Ann Howard Jones,
Alice Parker and Jane Marshall. He has also studied composition
with Dr. Eric McIntyre, Ms. Parker, and Ms. Marshall. In 2004 he
became a Fellow of Melodious Accord. With commissions coming from
a wide variety of groups, his music has been performed all across
the US, Europe, South America and South Africa.
Between writings,
Taylor is always up for a National League Champion Astros game and
on Friday and Saturday nights he can be found playing with his jazz
trio or the Paul Eason Band (there is plenty of room in life for
Bach cantatas and popular music to coexist). The Paul Eason Band
had much success this summer, with their debut single settling in
for several weeks at #3 on the Texas Music Chart. Their current
single — co-written by Taylor — entered the Texas Music
Chart at #26 in January and is moving up quickly. His new website
— www.taylorscottdavis.com
— is currently up and running
and he hopes it will keep everyone up to date on his music and current
activities.
