Before joining the Union University faculty in 1998, Dr. Bedsole served on the
faculties of Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida,
and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
Previously, she served as Preschool/Children's Consultant in the
Department of Church Music at the Baptist Sunday School Board (now
Lifeway Christian Resources) in Nashville, Tennessee. She has served on
the Board of Directors of Chorister's Guild, an international
organization for the development of children's choirs, and on the
Executive Council of the Baptist Church Music Conference. She is
certified in the teaching methodologies of Carl Orff and Zoltan Kodaly,
and has served as an officer on the Board of the Organization of
American Kodaly Educators. In the summer of 2007, Dr. Bedsole received a
grant to study "Teaching Music in the Middle School", which included
study at Westminster Choir College and Towson University. Frequently a
clinician for children's choir workshops and camps, in the summer of
2009, she served as co-director of Union's first annual Children's Music
Camp for children.
