To become a member of a Choristers Guild Chapter, it is required that the person, church or school be a member of the international organization.

This page offers information on how to form a Choristers Guild Chapter, who to contact about forming a Choristers Guild Chapter and existing Choristers Guild Chapters in the United States.

Forming a Choristers Guild Chapter

WHAT IS A CHORISTERS GUILD CHAPTER?

  • A chartered organization of Choristers Guild members who live within a specific geographical area, joined together for mutual support and growth.
  • Choristers Guild members who share the vision, purpose and commitment of Choristers Guild to nurture the spiritual growth of children and youth through music.

WHAT DOES A CHORISTERS GUILD CHAPTER DO?

  • Provides an interdenominational avenue of communication, support and sharing for church musicians in an area.
  • Provides opportunities and leadership for members' professional development.
  • Provides and promotes opportunities for children and youth to experience making music and worshipping in an ecumenical setting.

WHO WILL HELP YOU FORM A CHAPTER?

The Choristers Guild Office is ready to help you

Contact us at chapters@mailcg.org
1-800-246-7478. ext. 227

The international office has limited financial assistance for new chapters with no established funds. Contact Jim Rindelaub at the Choristers Guild office to apply for funding.

Funds may be used to assist with transportation costs for charter presentation, mailings, etc. Local expenses for Choristers Guild representative should be assumed by chapter

A portion of the membership dues for each member of Choristers Guild is directed to the chapters. If a Choristers Guild member resides in an area with no local or regional chapter option, the allotted monies will be placed in a fund for future chapter development.

HOW DO YOU FORM A CHAPTER?

  • If you have ten (10) active international members of Choristers Guild, contact the Chapter Coordinator.
  • Plan a special organizational event: luncheon, coffee, reading session, etc.
  • Contact all church musicians in your community to publicize the event.

HOW DO YOU OBTAIN A CHARTER FOR A CHAPTER?

Under the Bylaws of Choristers Guild, each local chapter MUST be chartered. Each new chapter will receive a charter at the scheduled charter event.

Each chapter member or member's church/school MUST be an international member of Choristers Guild.

Set time and place of event for charter presentation and officer installation service.

Request charter and clear date in writing with the international office.

Arrange for presentation of charter and installation of officers by official representative of the international Choristers Guild. The chapter may suggest a person, who may also serve as a resource leader, for a festival or workshop at the chartering event.
