Description:
The tune, SICILIAN MARINERS, is treated in a bouncy, joyful style, with malleted bass and rung treble bells. The optional use of sleigh bells lends a festive spirit to the original introduction and interludes. The tune moves into the bass and lower treble bells in the next section, accompanied by upper treble bell patterns including a variety of techniques. A gentle, rocking motion in 3/4 time provides a contrast in style, concluding with the bouncy feel of the beginning. Optional parts for sleigh bells, triangle or finger cymbals and tambourine are included. Also available, edition for 3, 4 or 5 octaves. (CGB550) The two editions are compatible for massed ringing.
