Jann
Aldredge-Clanton, a Chaplain Coordinator at Baylor University
Medical Center, is a member of City Church: A Baptist Fellowship
of Grace. Jann served as Associate Pastor at St. John's United Methodist
Church, Waco, Texas from 1985 to 1988.
In 1968 she earned a
B.A. degree from Louisiana Polytechnic University, M.A. degree from
Texas Christian University in 1970, Ph.D. from the same university
in 1978 and an M.Div. at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
in 1985.
Jann has published, In
Whose Image? God and Gender (Crossroad, 2001); God, A Word
for Girls and Boys (Glad River, 1993); In Search of the
Christ-Sophia (23rd Pub., 1995); Praying with Christ-Sophia
(23rd, 1996); Counseling People with Cancer (Westminster,
1998); and Breaking Free: The Story of a Feminist Baptist Minister
(Eakin, 2002). She has also published 36 hymns in Praying with
Christ-Sophia: Services for Healing and Renewal (Twenty-Third
Publications, 1996) and Inclusive Hymns for Liberating Christians,
with composer Larry E. Schultz (Eakin Press, 2006).
Jann belongs to the Association
of Professional Chaplains; American Association of Pastoral Counselors;
and The Hymn Society. She was honored by Pathfinder in Religion,
McLennon County; Herbert Reynolds Pastoral Counseling Award.
Jann is married with
two children; Chad and Brett. Her special hobby is writing.
