Dorothy Christopherson (b. 1932) is a piano teacher and composer and one of the writers for the Bach Resource Kit. She has authored articles for "The Chorister," is the composer of several titles included in the Choristers Guild catalog and is one of the writers for "Allelulia Series," Augsburg Publishing. Dorothy has directed vocal and handbell choirs for several Lutheran churches in Minnesota and South Dakota and tells us that she is now directing a handbell choir again. She has recently completed the list for children's choir anthems for "Sundays and Seasons, 2001, Cycle C" for Augsburg Fortress.

Dorothy Christopherson received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Augsburg College, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Master of Music from the University of South Dakota and has completed Orff-Schulwerk, Level 1. She is a former Choristers Guild board member and served as President of the Siouxland Chapter of Choristers Guild from 1991-1993. Dorothy is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music from MTNA.

Her hobbies include knitting, reading, traveling, gardening and entertaining her grandchildren.

In Dorothy's words: "I have had many wonderful experiences directing children's choirs, choir festivals and workshops. Perhaps my greatest joy, however, has been helping children find their singing voice and sing in tune. The sparkle in their eyes when this happens is priceless!"
