Dan Forrest

 

Dan Forrest (b. 1978) is a freelance composer, as well as a faculty member in the Theory and Composition department at Bob Jones University. He is currently on leave of absence, finishing a DMA in composition at the University of Kansas.

He holds both a BM and MM in Piano Performance from Bob Jones University.

Dan has received numerous awards and honors, including awards from the John Ness Beck Foundation, ASCAPlus, the ACDA Raymond Brock Contest, the KU Choral Society, Vanguard Voices, and the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards.

His publications include choral works from Beckenhorst, Hinshaw, Hal Leonard, Lorenz and Soundforth. Soundforth has also published several books of Dan's sacred piano arrangements and a Christmas cantata. Dan is married with two children.
