volume 58, number 5
In the February/March 2007 issue of The Chorister

This issue is full of information and meaningful activities to take your choristers through Lent and Holy Week. Consider how you might challenge your children while ministering to the congregation. Jason Thom's article on using the seasons of the church calendar will not let you think of the different parts of worship in quite the same way. In addition, Marilyn Comer fills each Sunday with opportunities for children to be the leaders of worship.

"Don't underestimate their capacity for awe," urges Dorothy Elder in So, You Want to Develop a Middle School Choir. Dorothy will assist you in developing a vision for taking your soon-to-graduate upper elementary singers to a new level while also providing very practical suggestions, including a first year starter pack.

As you begin to plan your end of year celebrations, remember to order your choir recognition awards early (see pages 28-31).

A hearty welcome to the Five Exceptional Children's Choir Leaders pictured below. Read about this new program and the certification program on pages 4-5.

A blessed and holy Lent to you.
