volume 56, number 6
In the April/May 2005 issue of The Chorister

  • Richard Hamrick and John Horman share perspectives and ideas on encouraging hymn singing with the congregation. Each offers successful experiences that his church has recently tried.
  • Nan Grantham concludes her six part series on Teaching from the Middle. Nan has led us through the various elements of music with engaging strategies for working with younger and older children.
  • Mary Keithahn completes her series of articles that help introduce the hymnal to children and youth. Over the past six issues, Mary has presented informative teaching guides with activities that you will find useful for years to come.
  • Charlotte McElroy gives us another Five Minute Hymn Study. This time, "Tell Me the Stories of Jesus" serves as the hymn. Charlotte has presented a variety of approaches throughout the past three volumes that can be transferred to many different hymns.
  • Both Mary's and Charlotte's articles would serve as rich resources for vacation church school or music camp during the summer months.
